What does it cost to euthanize my dog or cat at home?
The cost to have a euthanasia at home varies depending on your location, the weight of your dog, what type of aftercare you choose, and whether it is a weekend or a weekday. For average weight dogs and cats, within our regular travel area, on a weekday the prices are as listed on our pricing page. $425 for euthanasia without any cremation service, $485 for euthanasia with communal cremation, and $585 for euthanasia with private cremation.
If that appointment were on a Saturday, Sunday, holiday, or after hours, it would be $525 for euthanasia with no cremation, $585 for euthanasia with communal cremation, or $685 for euthanasia with private cremation.
How does my location affect the cost of euthanizing my pet at home?
The price is the same as above for most of our clients. Our range is done by drive time not by radius. The map pictured here represents roughly where we go without any additional travel fees. We will go beyond this range but we do charge extra for extended travel for in home euthanasia. Dr. Burroughs has gone as far as Rocky Mount and Greensboro to help families that needed her services. The travel fee is not a flat fee, it scales so that it is less expensive the closer you are to our regular service area. The travel fee starts at $10 and increases with increased distance. Are there any "platform fees" or other "add on" fees?
No, we dont add on extra unknown fees. When searching for euthanasia at home you may see some services that advertise $300 euthanasia at home, or $275 euthanasia at home. It sounds like a better price than we offer. But they may add a platform fee, service fees, and other hidden fees, and the price is suddenly much more expensive than our upfront pricing. When compared fairly, we are one of the most affordable in home euthanasia services in the Raleigh area.
Does my dog's weight affect the cost of in home euthanasia?
Yes, for large breed dogs the cost goes up $50 if you are not doing cremation or $150 if you are choosing a cremation option. It costs the cremation company more in energy and supplies to cremate a larger pet. The cremation company we partner with charges more for larger dogs and we have to pass that cost on.
